First orienteering event! 20 checkpoints (including the start/end at Fleet Feet). Theme was “buildings that survived the 1906 earthquake.”
Lots to improve on. I overshot, took too many wrong turns, spent too much time looking for checkpoints, and stopped to take too many pictures. I enjoyed how different this was, though, to a typical road race!
Hosted by terraloco, and met a few Bay Area Orienteering Club members. I actually didn’t know what “orienteering” was, or that it was actually a thing, until I finished (and talked to other finishers)!
